Boston, December 2015 (part I)

When Alexander returned to school after the holidays, he informed his classmates that “I went on a trip with my little brother on an airplane to Boston.” This confirmed our growing suspicion that we, Mommy and Daddy, function merely as life facilitators for the important people around here. The big wigs did have a very nice trip to Boston, where they were inundated with affection from every direction. (An unfortunate after-effect of all that attention is that Alexander has become less than enthusiastic, to put it mildly, about permitting Mommy and Daddy to even leave the house!) While the boys were being spoiled, their humble servants/travel agents spent a lot of time eating, and managed to hit up a shocking number of their favorite restaurants.

This was an important visit, because it was Zachary’s inaugural trip “home.” He was a wonderful travel companion, and loved sticking out his tongue at the nice ladies on the plane. The timing of the trip was also particularly good, as three of Mommy’s old friends recently moved back to Boston — she was able to see people she hasn’t seen in years, Zachary met them for the first time, and Alexander got to play with three new members of his favorite demographic (the little girl).

Here are some photos from the first half of our trip. Apparently we were having too much fun to remember to take photos at all of the fun visits, so these are heavily focused on the boys hanging around the house. We did much more of that than usual, because Alexander came down with a virus that gave him a frighteningly high fever for several days. We’d begun to wonder if he was immune to disease, so at least now we know he’s human after all.
