March 2014 on Video

Alexander rarely sits still long enough to be photographed, so we’ve accumulated a lot of videos over the past month. This is not a complete inventory (for example, we still have to dig up his “teapot ritual” video), but we may have enough to keep Aunt Arielle amused for at least part of the afternoon!

1. Siren demo:

2. This is what he does with his car-tent:

3. Alexander regularly threatens to walk on other people’s property while chastising himself with “nooo, nooo, nooo.” Here he demonstrates the correct pronunciation of this important word:

4. New bath activity: bubbles (and sign language)

5. Alexander is definitely a chip off one of the old blocks. He now says “dirty” when he finds lint/trash/food on the floor or himself, and then hands the offending item to Mommy for proper disposal. Here he stars in “Bath, please!” from February 2014:

6. He likes to do weird break-dance-like moves, usually in the upstairs hallway. This is not the best example, and it was interrupted by his need to check on the laundry, but it gives you the basic idea:

7. A typical day at Stay, Play and Learn. (Apparently, Alexander is sometimes such a Dancing Queen that the parents and teachers cheer him on – we’re hoping to catch that on video some time!)

8. Checking on Mommy, whom he forced under the desk during a spirited game of “boo” (from February):

9. One afternoon, Alexander insisted on sitting on every house’s front curb. He sat on the curb of #28 for a full 30 minutes without budging. Afterwards, Mommy did not have the strength of will to prevent him from “sliding” down the front yard. It looked like a real blast; maybe “friction” will be his next new word.

10. Alexander in his favorite Target isle. He’s particularly keen on orange (“oish”) cars. In fact, “oish car” was his first two-word phrase. Luckily, he hasn’t figured out that the items in the store can, in principle, be taken home:

11. Ernie and Bert conversing:

12. He’s fascinated by shadows and loves to stomp on them:
